European Festival of Aviation 2014

Saturday was mainly dedicated to the public who could enjoy the show of more than 200 planes, cars, rescue vehicles etc. The visitors could see tens of airplanes in the sky during aerobatic show as well as simulated rescue actions. One of the interesting news of this year was the autograph signing of two times medallist from the Word Championship in aerobatic flying Martin Šonka, MOTO GP race bike driver Karel Abraham and racing driver Jan Charouz.

During the accompanying program, the visitors could see demonstrations of how to get somebody out of the crash vehicle during accidents and crashes with help of extrication mechanisms, ground demonstration of intervention of Police of the Czech Republic, customs, dog breeding, Fire brigade and many more.

The biggest attraction of Saturday´s program were definitely the speed races - the most powerful single engine helicopter AS 350 with the most powerful aerobatic airplane Extra 300 SR and Honda CBRT 1000RR Fireblades with helicopter AS350. For the first time the visitors could see speed races with their own eyes at the event like this. Karel Abraham has borrowed the most powerful motorbike, which Honda produces at this moment, for the race against helicopter. He has also experienced what it is like to be the injured person in the mass accident.

More than 20 thousand people visited EFA this year and again this time the organisers have arranged free entry for children's homes, handicapped people and children up to 15 years. For visitors who flew in with their own airplane, the organisers provided free entry as well as paid all landing fees. 200 aircrafts landed at the show. We believe that their interest will be even bigger next year.
